MiniM Getting Started Guide
This Getting Started Guide has been intended to help to start using MiniM Database Server and make the acquaintance of MiniM and common MUMPS technology. This Guide is organized as a set of articles with screenshots and code snippets to illustrate MUMPS in action step-by-step. As such as many other development tools, MiniM has many simple and ready-to-use things and this Guide can familiarize developers how it looks and feels. Much more detailed descriptions of each used tool, function and behaviour was (and will be if absent) described in online documentation, in offline documentation installed with the MiniM Database Server, and in a set of technical articles online and in the MiniM Advanced Guide. MiniM Database Server implements full-functional MUMPS execution environment with transactions, and supports many databases per one MiniM instance as such as many independent instances per one computer. Functionality of the MiniM Database Server can be extended by external dll (so) modules, and server can be accessed by many other execution environment such as C++, Pascal, Java, DotNET, WEB. At the moment of this Guide has been written, MiniM Database Server has been ported to Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OSX running on different processors, and, additionally, MiniMono has been ported to Android, so this Guide has illustrations on this platforms. In the future MiniM Database Server and MiniMono (MiniM Embedded Edition) can be ported to other different operating systems and processors, so, in the future, some details of screenshots may vary. ![]()
